Introducing the CBHA

The Canadian Barefoot Horse Association was officially formed in 2009 to supply Canada with a solid training and certification program based on the latest research, for upcoming natural hoof & horse care professionals. It was formed to provide the necessary skills to recognize and maintain healthy hooves and horses, as well as to rehabilitate unsound ones and to maximize the performance of competition horses in all disciplines. The CBHA is a nation-wide, non-profit organization which also educates the equine community on the benefits of natural hoof and horse care in order to equip owners with the knowledge to provide their horses with a heatlhier domestic lifestyle.

Mandates

The main mandate of the training program is to make the training easily accessible, both financially and geographically to Canadian students. This is facilitated by presenting the program in Steps or Modules which students can complete at their own pace and in the nearest location to them.

Other mandates include but are not limited to the following:

Providing a streamlined education that is straight cut and the "same" across the board, meaning that all students get exactly the same curriculum no matter where in Canada they are located. This eliminates the possibility of confusion within the student body and ensures correct understanding of the principles taught. The CBHA aims to turnout highly educated, knowledgeable and intuitive professionals with a cutting edge training program based on the latest equine scientific research in both domesticated animals as well as their wild counterparts.

CBHA's Mission

The mission of the CBHA is to promote natural hoof and horse care By:

  • Educating the equine community about the benefits of preserving; And, when necessary, rehabilitating to a healthy state, the natural Bare hoof.
  • Encouraging a healthy lifestyle through proper diet and exercise.
  • Promoting overall equine health through sound, effective and accepted therapies both traditional and holistic that ultimately lead to healthier feet.
  • Providing guidance to individuals interested in a career in Natural hoof care with a comprehensive, effective and measurable training program leading to certification with the CBHA.
