Consultations - Online and in Person
Our Certified practitioners are all qualified to provide professional lameness consultations both online and in person. Each in person consultation includes a full horse assessment, both bodily and hoof related to help the owner determine what course of actions may be taken to return the horse to a healthy and sound state or to optimize the horse's performance if no lameness is found. Depending on the severity of the case a full work up of radiographs may be necessary but still the owner's choice. A look at the horse's nutrition program as well as medical history and lifestyle management will be taken into account, so that a full background informational file can be developed on each case consultation. The owner will be provided with a sound treatment protocol, during which some changes may require the commitment on the part of the owner as well as the Practitioner. Photos will be taken at the initial consultation prior to and after the setup trim; and be provided to the horse owner, if the owner wishes to have copies. All cases will be fully documented by the practitioner and all pertinent information and resources will be shared with the owner and veterinarian or other health care Practitioners as needed.
Each online consultation will include the Practitioner's time and expertise and will be allocated to each of our certified practitioners on a rotational basis. The consultation will include the CP's time taken to assess the case through photos and a detailed background information form to be submitted by the owner online to the CBHA. As well this covers all the time necessary for the practitioner to fully correspond with the owner either via email or telephone. Based on the (online evaluation results) the owner will be provided with a generalized treatment plan with suggested hoof and body work recommendations and resources needed to get the horse on the path to recovery, in transition out of shoes or to reach optimal performance goals. In person consultations are ideal in most cases.
Consultation Fees must be paid up front prior to the consultation and can be paid either online through PayPal or Email Money Transfers through your chosen bank. You can also mail a cheque or money order directly to the Practitioner which has been assigned to your case. If you choose this payment method, please contact your assigned Practitioner directly via the Trimmers Page. The fee for consultations whether online or in person is $100 cdn for each case consult.
*Please note that initial CBHA consultations include a one-time fee, without the owner having to commit to the recommended treatment protocol at the outcome of the consultation. It is at the owner's discretion as to whether they would like to commit to following the treatment protocol thereafter. Each Practitioner, will be open to (and recommend) working in conjunction with whichever medical/holistic/homeopathic professionals needed in order to facilitate the recovery or transitional process for each case. Each Practitioner will be happy to recommend other Equine Professionals in the region that horse owners may contact to arrange appointments.
